Lucy Ambrose lives in Georgetown with her three best friends from college - Addie, Penelope, and Estella. Although they share everything with each other, Lucy has kept her past as a child from an abusive home from her friends. She is outraged when Addie comes back from a run, hurt and bloodied. At first, Addie thinks the person who attacked her was her ex-boyfriend Josh, a popular local TV investigative reporter and son of a former Presidential candidate, but she later believes it was someone who looked like Josh. Due to her uncertainty, Addie refuses to contact the police. Addie and Josh had an intense relationship and were making plans for the future. The recent breakup was sudden. Soon after Addie's incident, the police show up asking questions as Josh has gone missing. 

Watch Us Fall by Christina Kovac is told in the present day by Lucy, who is fiercely devoted to Addie. The narrative is interspersed with third-person chapters detailing Josh’s life before his disappearance. It's an intriguing story about friendship, self-delusion and obsession, that will keep you guessing as many secrets are well hidden.
