Now in her 60s, actress Maria Astorini is back in the spotlight. And it's time to deliver to her publisher the memoir she had contracted to write 37 years ago. Maria's life has been quite a ride, so she has a lot of ground to cover. There's a famous mother, a messy love life, and challenging friendships, alongside a career marked by triumphs and many setbacks. Told with lots of humor and heart, Maria is finally on her way to delivering the one project she has long avoided.

Proof of Progress by Elizabeth Castellano is a fast-paced book featuring a main character who is hilarious as she reflects on her journey from a young woman to her later years. While Maria's story is filled with many disappointments, her spirit remains unbreakable. She is a unique, witty character who, while often irreverent, is never mean. This book is a delight. I was sad when it ended.

Many thanks to Harper for the gifted advance.
