Long Way Down - a tense thriller filled with lies and deceit.

Deni Rydell was raised in the small, working-class town of Prosperity in Northern California. She attended school with the rich children from neighboring Gold Hills. Feeling ostracized, she was happy to become friends with the wealthy Luna. Deni had a huge crush on Cal Copper, though she believed she didn't stand a chance with him. But years later, Deni, working as a waitress in the local cafe, became engaged to Cal and eagerly awaited their wedding and the start of her new life. Cal's parents, however, disapproved of Deni. Complicating matters, Cal's brother Grant returned from rehab with a new girlfriend who seems to be hiding something. Soon after, tragedy strikes. Cal and his parents perish when their private plane crashes. Then, Luna is found murdered. Local police detective Robyn Torres seeks answers on Luna's murder as the plane crash starts looking like it may not have been an accident after all.

Long Way Down by Lisa Kusel is a suspenseful story that slowly unfolds, keeping you guessing. First, the tragic death of Deni's fiancé and his family, followed by the murder of her best friend, creates a mind-numbing situation for the young bride-to-be whose hopes and dreams were shattered along with the plane. Unexpected and startling revelations emerge about nearly everyone. If you're a fan of suspense, this gripping book will satisfy.
