Confessions on the 7:45 - a clever, chilling, twisty thriller that will keep you guessing.

Selena has a seemingly perfect life with two young boys and a husband she loves. One night Selena misses the 5:40 train coming home from work and takes the 7:45. There she meets Martha, who is eager to bond and swap secrets. Martha confesses that she is sleeping with her boss and Selena admits that that her husband is cheating on her with their nanny. Martha asks, “Don’t you ever wish your problems would take care of themselves?” This sets off an extremely entertaining thriller which includes not only Selena’s life going up in flames, as the nanny soon goes missing, but the backstories of some very clever and devious con artists.

Lisa Unger's Confessions on the 7:45 checks off all the boxes. It’s an excellent and suspenseful psychological thriller with lots of twists and turns. The story keeps you guessing and doubting everyone. You won’t be able to put this book down. With a book like this, it is best not to reveal too much other than offering some advice to pay careful attention. There are many characters and you’ll want to keep track of everyone. It reaffirms what we were all told early on, “Don’t talk to strangers.”

Rated 4.25 out of 5 stars.
