A Flicker in the Dark – a gripping thriller that will keep you guessing.

Chloe Davis is a psychologist in Baton Rouge working to help people cope with trauma, something she knows a lot about. When she was twelve, her father confessed to the murders of six teenage girls and is now serving consecutive life sentences. Chloe tries to cope with her own trauma by self-medicating. But she has new hope for happiness as she prepares to marry Daniel Briggs, a pharmaceutical salesperson. A man her older brother Cooper has serious doubts about. As the twentieth anniversary of the crime approaches, two local teenage girls go missing just as a reporter from the New York Times comes to town to try and interview Chloe. It has the makings of a copycat crime. Chloe starts to fear for her life and her abuse of medication is making it hard for her to distinguish between fact and paranoia. And Chloe has lost all credibility with the police. Who can she trust?

Author Stacy Willingham has created a tense thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat and keep you guessing. Quite a feat for this being a debut novel. I was excited to learn that HBO Max is developing a limited series adaptation of A Flicker in the Dark with Emma Stone’s production company.
