You'll Be Sorry - a couple purchases an old home filled with a tragic history.

In the small town of Shereford, New Hampshire, Raquel and Theo Collins have purchased and are restoring the former Dixon estate as they cope with a recent tragedy. While Raquel hides her own dark secrets, the house was the scene of a decades-old mystery when a family of six disappeared. Police Chief Mandy Grady, following in her father's footsteps, is intrigued by the new owners. Perhaps Mandy might get the chance to finally solve the mystery, which eluded her father for so many years. A discovery on the property leads them to tales of witches, pirates, and 18th century crimes, stories well hidden by their descendants who have remained in town. 

You'll Be Sorry, Lisa Gardner's first standalone thriller in some time, is a satisfying page-turner filled with intriguing characters, such as a reclusive woman, several town gossipers, and a wonderful stray dog who seems to know a lot about the Dixon property. Gardner keeps the suspense high in this atmospheric story, which is often sad and a bit creepy. Enjoy it.
