Lena lives with her seventeen-year-old son, Lucas, in a house on a quiet tree-lined street in Bristol, England. The New Neighbors by Claire Douglas is a well-paced, clever psychological thriller that unfolds in an unsettling way. As the tension escalates, Lena is determined to find out the truth about her neighbors, who at first seemed so nice and normal. With a strong theme of motherhood, this gripping book is one that was hard to put down, culminating with an ending that was truly unexpected.
