Lacy Stoltz is an investigator for Florida’s Board on Judicial Contact (BJC). The poorly funded department is filled with a staff that has one foot out the door. Everything changes when Lacy is approached by Jeri Crosby. With no hard evidence, Jeri believes that a sitting judge in Pensacola is responsible for the murder of her father. For twenty years, she has been stalking Judge Ross Bannick and has been able to determine that he is responsible for a long list of people who have wronged him over the years. But Bannick has used his professional knowledge well and has left no clues that could prove his guilt. All that exists is motive and method, a blow to the head and strangulation with the same type of rope. Once Lacy gets involved, a tense cat and mouse game begins.
Author John Grisham introduced Lacy in The Whistler (2016) but her story is well recapped so you can jump right into The Judge’s List. It is an intriguing story that held my interest. A quick, entertaining read.
