The Fine Art of Lying - a Manhattan wife and mother, who had put her art career on hold, is caught in the middle of a murder and a stolen masterpiece investigation.

Clare Bast lives in Manhattan with her husband Jed. After becoming pregnant with their daughter Sophie, she put her PhD studies on hold. Jeb works for a hedge fund and comes from an affluent family. At a party hosted by gallery owner Gabriel Prévost, Clare feels an immediate connection and is drawn back into the art world she misses. After a violent murder and theft of a valuable work of art, Clare becomes a suspect.

Alexandra Andrews' novel, Who Is Maud Dixon? (2021) was such an entertaining debut. The Fine Art of Lying was worth the wait. It features a large cast of intriguing characters. Clare gets to show her smarts as she works to uncover the truth. And things get a bit complicated. It's an engaging book that will keep you guessing.
