Eden Fox is an artist who has recently moved with husband Harrison to Spyglass, their new home in the fishing village of Hope Falls on the Cornish coast. Before her exhibition at the local art gallery, Eden goes for a run. When she returns home, her key fails to work. A woman who resembles her and is wearing her clothing answers the door and insists that Spyglass is her home and she is Eden Fox. Harrison joins the woman and agrees that they do not know who she is. Nothing makes sense. Adding to the drama is Birdy, a woman who, six months earlier, received devastating health news. She travels from London to Hope Falls after she is told that she has inherited Spyglass and now has her own mission. Through the POVs of several characters, an intricate story of lies and deception unfolds. It becomes a surprising and shocking journey to discovering the many truths of this twisty tale.
My Husband's Wife showcases author Alice Feeney's skill as a master of manipulation. The plot is intricately woven, guiding the reader in one direction before continually shifting everything. Each well-paced chapter ends with a gasp. The atmospheric backdrop, particularly Spyglass, is brought to life with its own mysteries. This book is intense, gripping and completely unpredictable. Highly entertaining!
