Mother May I – a child’s kidnapping uncovers secrets from the past.

It’s every mother’s nightmare. Bree Cabbat, while at her daughters’ school, looks away from her baby Robert and in a split second he’s gone. Earlier that day, she thought she saw a witch peeking into her home and was on edge. But now she sees the woman from a distance (clearly not a witch) and knows who took her son. The old woman is out for revenge on behalf of her daughter and wants Bree to do one small task, which doesn’t seem all that terrible, and then her son will be returned to her. And so starts this wild ride.

Bree’s loving (and wealthy) husband Trey is a successful attorney and is away on business. She enlists the help of Marshall, the widower of her late best friend and a work associate of Trey, to help her get her son back. Through a series of great detective work (in a totally unrealistic timeframe) they start to uncover what is the motivation for the abduction. The old woman and her daughter come from the wrong side of the tracks – something Bree can relate to as she grew up poor in rural Georgia. What Bree discovers is shocking and changes everything as she fights to save her son.

Author Joshilyn Jackson knows how to make you hold your breathe. She has done an impressive job creating true suspense. Mother May I is a page-turner than will keep you up all night. I simply couldn’t put it down.
