Indie Darling - the lead singer in a rock band is missing and a female private detective tries to find her.

Set in Nashville, private detective Kelly Williams, who works exclusively for women, has an intriguing new case. Her client, Sarah Owens, Kelly quickly realizes, is the lead singer of the popular female indie band Garden Snakes, performing under the name Seraph. The band had been receiving hateful and threatening messages delivered to their home, which escalated into a physical attack on Sarah. As Kelly starts her investigation and attends a live performance, Sarah is shot onstage. An ambulance is called but Sarah vanishes and never reaches the hospital. While the police search for the shooter, Kelly continues to pursue the individual who threatened and attacked Sarah, hoping it will lead to her whereabouts.

Indie Darling by Lauren Nossett was an entertaining mystery that delves into the music industry, fame, and the challenges faced by female performers. Nossett created an appealing character in Kelly, a huge fan of Dolly Parton, and a woman who might have some secrets of her own. The story includes creative song lyrics and Easter egg clues. It's a fresh take on stalker and missing person themes. Amara Jasper did an excellent job narrating the audio version, vividly bringing Kelly to life.

Rated 3.75 out of 5 stars.
