Dannie is a lawyer. She’s smart, ambitious and lives in Manhattan with her boyfriend who is very much like her. Her dream job is right around the corner. Her life is on a straight path. One she planned long ago. Her best friend Bella has no such path. She lives day-to-day with passion and abandon. But the night her perfect boyfriend proposes, she falls asleep and is transported to her life five years in the future. She finds herself in a new apartment in Brooklyn with a different man beside her and a different engagement ring on her finger. After an hour, she awakes back into her life in the present yet she becomes deeply affected by the life she saw for herself. As the years progress, elements of the life she had a glimpse of in her “dream” start to emerge. What if the life you've planned for is not your true destiny?
While In Five Years appears at first to be a romance novel, it is a book about friendship. And making choices to live your best life.
This is a beautiful and moving book. Prepare to read it in one sitting. Prepare to be moved.
