Meet Patty Watts, the mother from hell. Patty is put in jail for the lifelong aggravated abuse of her daughter Rose Gold. Patty suffers from Munchausen syndrome by proxy. When Patty’s five year sentence is up, who picks her up and takes her home to live with her and her new son? Rose Gold. Darling Rose Gold is told in the present as well as the past peeling away the story behind their reunion. Patty denies her actions and is a convincing liar. And what’s up with Rose Gold? Once together again, a cat and mouse game begins between two very damaged women and you’ll sit on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. Abuse against a child is the worst kind of abuse. This is a real and horrid disease and Patty’s behavior was unimaginable. If this was simply a story of a whacked-out mother, it would have been easier to read. Nevertheless, it’s a book I couldn’t put down even as creepy and disturbing as it was. If this type of domestic suspense / psychological thriller appeals to you, dig in. Many thanks to Edelweiss, Berkley/Penguin Publishing and Ms. Wrobel for an advance copy of this impressive debut novel which comes out on March 17, 2020.

I have this on my list of things I want to read. It sounds so disturbing, but fascinating. I love a good psychological thriller.
