Investigative journalist Theresa Lee and intelligence analyst Bill Walker are arguing outside in New York City when they are both attacked. Lee is shot and left in the street, while Walker is abducted and taken to Australia. His body is soon found. Travis Devine, a former Army Ranger and federal investigator for Homeland Security, is sent to Australia to investigate the attack and is teamed up with Sydney detective Anais Jones. Walker was married to Charlotte, the daughter of billionaire Carlton Woolwine, and was living in the U.S. He was in the midst of a divorce and his autopsy revealed he was terminally ill with cancer. Things did not add up. As Devine delves into the murder and Lee's shooting, a devious scheme emerges that involves AI, the Russian mob, and a global power struggle come to light.

The threats in David Baldacci's new book All In, the fourth book in the tense and entertaining 6:50 Man series, felt uncomfortably realistic. Baldacci has clearly done his homework to present numerous current topics, including the growth of data centers and the dangers of rogue intelligence. In this action-packed story, our hero Devine relies on old-fashioned intelligence as his life is threatened by the bad guys. Baldacci cleverly keeps us unsure of who can be trusted. While this book can be read as a standalone, the series is good enough to start from the first book.

Many thanks to Grand Central Publishing for the advance.
