North Falls, located in Clifton County, Georgia, is a town brimming with secrets. Police Officer Emmy Lou Clifton is investigating the July 4th abduction of Cheyenne Baker and Madison Dalrymple, whose stepmother, Hannah, is Emily's best friend. It is uncovered that the fifteen-year-old friends have been exposed to drugs and possibly a sexual predator. Emmy, whose father serves as the town's sheriff, finds her life spiraling out of control. How this case concludes will affect the future disappearance of another teenager, Paisley Walker. To aid in the new investigation, retiring FBI criminal psychologist Jude Archer arrives in North Falls with shocking connections to the Clifton family.  

Karin Slaughter introduces an intriguing group of characters in her new North Falls series. With its intense themes, We Are All Guilty Here is a gritty and heart-wrenching novel. A lot is going on with many people to keep track of, including everyone named Clifton. From a police procedural perspective, the book stands on its own, yet Slaughter has skillfully laid the groundwork for future installments. I'm eager to spend more time with Emmy Lou, her son, and the others in North Falls.
