The Museum of Lost Dreams - a powerful story of healing and second chances.

In 1986, Bess Rollins returns to her home in the Finger Lakes region of New York after both of her parents die in an accident. While she loves working overseas providing humanitarian efforts, she must now assume the role as the legal guardian of her twin sister and brother. Three years have passed since she cut ties with her family and left behind Luke, the love of her life. As she moves back to the estate she inherited from her grandmother, Valerie, a renowned mathematician, Bess faces the challenge of rebuilding her family. Through flashbacks, Valerie's story is told. She was a woman who never married but had a child, Shayla, whom she falsely told everyone was adopted. The relationship between Valerie and Shayla was strained. But there were secrets that were never revealed. By learning the truth about her family, can Bess find a way to mend her fractured relationships?

The Museum of Lost Dreams by Christine Nolfi, is a story of a family that has been damaged through the generations. After a multitude of tragedies, Bess has a chance to right many wrongs. Nolfi has created complex, flawed characters and as the story unfolds, we gain a deeper understanding of them. While filled with sadness, this is a captivating and hopeful read.
