The Killer Question - a British pub hosts weekly trivia nights, while its owners harbor dark secrets.

On an isolated British back road, Sue and Mal Eastwood run The Case Is Altered, a pub that largely depends on patrons attending their weekly quiz night. The teams take these quizzes very seriously. When a team named The Shadow Nights joins in, their newfound dominance intensifies the competition. Matters become even more complicated when a body is discovered in the nearby river. Fast forward five years, and the pub has shut down. The Eastwoods' nephew, Dominic, is pitching a true crime docuseries. He begins to outline the story of the pub, the quiz contestants, the case of the dead body, a notorious pub quiz cheat, and the Eastwoods' intriguing history. The story unfolds as it is presented to Netflix producer Polly.

Told through texts, WhatsApp chats, emails, crime reports, and quiz reports, The Killer Question by Janice Hallett is funny, dark, satirical, and clever. But patience is required, which is richly rewarded. Here's hoping Netflix actually turns this twisty tale into a series!
