The Gallagher Place - a haunting tale of a friend's decades-old disappearance and family secrets.

Marlowe Fisher is a freelance illustrator living in New York City. Her family owns Gray House, located on a farm in New York's Hudson Valley, which they purchased from the Gallagher family. Marlowe enjoyed many happy, adventurous summers there with her two brothers and her best friend, Nora. But twenty years ago, everything changed when Nora went missing and was never found. Marlowe has never come to terms with the loss, and the community, including Nora's family, has always suspected that the Fisher family had some involvement in Nora's disappearance. When the Fisher family reunites on the farm for Thanksgiving, Marlowe and her brothers discover a newly deceased male body in the woods on their property. As the police investigate, clues begin to emerge that might link this new death to Nora's unsolved case. What secrets have the Fisher family been hiding?

The Gallagher Place is a tense, slow burn mystery marking the debut of author Julie Doar. Her vivid descriptions of the setting create a gothic-like atmosphere which adds to the story's intrigue. Marlowe's old wounds are opened up when Nora's case is revisited. She has to relive her most painful memories and question everything and everyone around her. The story alternates between the present (2018), and 1998, when Nora was still in Marlowe's life. It's a haunting story that will keep you glued.
