The Comeback Summer - celebrate sisterhood in this fun beach read with heart.

Libby and Hannah are sisters and best friends, trying to live up to the legacy of their late, beloved grandmother GiGi who left her successful Chicago PR firm, the Freedman Group, to them. After losing major clients, they are struggling to keep the firm afloat. Lou, a self-help guru may be the answer to turn their luck around. Instead of a standard business pitch, Lou is requiring that the sisters partake in her 12-week “Crush Your Comfort Zone” program. Hannah is to address her social fears and anxiety by going on twelve first dates. And Libby, who is dealing with body issues, is tasked to train for a grueling obstacle course challenge. Will this journey of self-realization help the sisters save their company or send them in different directions?

The Comeback Summer is a highly enjoyable, sweet beach read. It is written by Ali Brady, the author of last summer's fun The Beach Trap and is the pseudonym for the writing team of best friends Alison Hammer and Bradeigh Godfrey. You'll find yourself rooting for Libby and Hannah as they deal with their own issues and find that love might be possible for each of them. The secondary characters are great and there's some good humor too. One of Hannah's dates accuses her of being too competitive when she beats him at pickleball. Gotta love that!

While it's a light book overall, it has several characters dealing with mental struggles, which I appreciate when addressed as it creates more awareness and hopefully increased acceptance. Also, the concept of being challenged to push your boundaries and get out of your comfort zone is a clever one and begs the question of what would guru Lou choose for each of us if we were part of her program?

Plan a summer date with this cute book.
