Murder Two Doors Down - a board member on a community HOA becomes the primary suspect in two murders in this witty whodunit.

Brad Hanson resides in a suburban Atlanta housing community, where he serves as secretary on the board of its homeowners' association (HOA). At work, he investigates insurance fraud, while at HOA meetings, he has to contend with neighborhood drama. His children are grown and out of the house, and his wife, Rhonda's, primary focus is on renovating their kitchen. Life is relatively uneventful for Brad until not one but two of his neighbors are found murdered, prompting the local police and the FBI to descend upon the Estates at Chestnut Lake. Brad's over-eagerness in conducting his own investigation into the crimes backfires, resulting in him becoming the primary suspect.

While I love gritty, twisty mystery thrillers, I have come to enjoy cozy mysteries. When I discovered Murder Two Doors Down by Chuck Storla was centered around an HOA, I had to check it out. If you attend monthly homeowners' meetings and find yourself rolling your eyes at some of the remarks made by fellow neighbors, you'll appreciate the humor in this book. It's filled with outrageous characters, and you're sure to enjoy trying to solve the mystery yourself. It's a light-hearted, quick read and marks the author's debut novel, kicking off his new An HOA Homicide Mystery series. I'm looking forward to reading more.

Many thanks to Crooked Lane Books for the advance.
