Lennon Gallagher is completing her final year of law school in Connecticut, having overcome significant challenges to reach this point. With a mother who struggled with addiction and spent time in jail, an unstable childhood, and an absent father, Lennon has faced many obstacles. Despite it all, Lennon is smart and resourceful. Luckily, she has had the support and encouragement of her mother's former childhood best friend, Miranda (Randi) Quinn, a legal-aid attorney. As Lennon approaches graduation, she is interning at a prestigious law firm on a class action lawsuit and suspects that the lead plaintiff might be her father. Although she's been a loner throughout her school years, she joins a study group and discovers a cheating scheme. She faces an ethical dilemma of whether to report it to the school or keep quiet.
Class Action is another winning book by Gail Ward Olmsted. Miranda Quinn, the main character in three of the author's books, now plays a supporting role. In the previous book, Miranda Fights, Randi comes to the aid of Lennon, who was living in a state-run home. Since then, Randi and her husband Eric have become a true family for Lennon. While this book can be read as a standalone, the entire series is well worth reading. This is a fast-paced story filled with suspense and emotion. Both Lennon and Miranda are strong, resilient women. You'll enjoy rooting for them.
